Who we are
We provide specialist services to the heritage sector
Heritage Project Contracts is a specialist contractor for cultural heritage and historic buildings. We work for architects, main contractors, local authorities, museums, heritage trusts, churches and private clients, taking responsibility for the heritage elements of a project so that they do not become obstacles in the contractor's path.
Across a diverse client base we take the time to fully understand the needs of each individual project. That is often a question of balancing what is best for the heritage against a client's expectations and the funding available, and we pride ourselves on maintaining good working relationships with every client.
Our people are skilled in a wide range of traditional craft skills and we work in partnership with PACR accredited conservators. As well as practical treatment we carry out condition assessments, prepare treatment specifications and provide guidance on costings, so a client can fully understand what their objects need and what it is likely to cost.

Materials
Iron, steel, aluminium, brass, bronze, copper and lead, plus ceramics, stone, glass, timber and modern composites. We understand both traditional and modern materials and can work them as well as treat them.

Contractors
We work with building contractors of every size on the redevelopment of heritage buildings and structures, undertaking high quality work that is sympathetic to the building fabric.

Specialist projects
Bespoke commissions where an item has to be replicated, reconstructed or conserved in place: replica lighting canopies, memorial gates, cast iron lamp posts, historic machinery and one off metalwork.
Specialist projectsConservation
The conservation of historic materials is a key service. We apply practical conservation treatment techniques, and we also carry out condition assessments, prepare treatment specifications and provide guidance on costings. We are pleased to work with museums and galleries across the UK, helping to care for the collections in their charge.
Construction
We help construction companies meet obligations imposed by local authorities around listed building consents and planning restrictions. We can develop conservation and restoration proposals, liaise with heritage organisations and implement the works on site, taking the heritage pressure off the contractor.

Consultancy
Through a link to our sister company, Heritage Project Management, we offer a wide range of consultancy services using in house expertise and that of selected external specialists. The two companies can act in partnership to see a project through from its earliest development stages to completion on site.

Materials
Mount Street Bronze Gates, Manchester
Two new pairs of bronze gates designed and fabricated for the link between two Grade II* listed buildings.

Manchester City Lamp Posts
Seven cast iron posts at the Grade I listed Old Town Hall surveyed, repaired and fitted with replicated heads.
